Coming to Groningen
The closest airport to Groningen is Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. You can take an NS train from the Schiphol Airport station to the Groningen (Main) station, which takes about two hours and ten minutes. There is a direct connecting train every hour which costs 29,70 euros one-way.
You may easily book your train ticket on the NS website: https://www.ns.nl/en. You do not need to book your ticket so much in advance, for no seat will be reserved with your ticket.
From the Groningen (Main) station, you can easily take a bus or taxi to your hotel.

The Leonardo Hotel (Google Maps location, just outside the city center, about 30 minutes on foot or by bus to the conference location).
- There are 25 rooms reserved for SPCL guests which can be booked by using the booking code (2606RUG) through their website (www.leonardo-hotels.nl)
- Standard room available for 129.00 EUR per night including breakfast, excluding 4 EUR of city tax
- All the rooms are for 2 people but the price is for single use. If two people want to use one room there is an additional fee of 20 euros a night
- Superior twin room available for 139 EUR per night including breakfast, excluding 4 EUR of city tax
- Rooms that are not booked will be released as we approach closer to the conference dates.
